Another $500 Giveaway from Crystal Light!

EDITED TO ADD: This giveaway's winner is Heather from Caring for Bear! Congratulations, Heather!

Last week, Crystal Light let me give one of you guys a $500 VISA gift card. 485 of you entered... and the winner is:

JOCELYN, from Physical Possum!

Congratulations, Jocelyn!

I hope that those of you who took the Crystal Light pledge to drink more water for one week were able to do it. I know I drank a lot more water last week (drinking some now, in fact!)- and I can tell you that it helped immensely. I've been having muscle problems ever since doing daily push ups a month ago. I've learned that water really helps with the aches and pains- and just makes me feel better in general.

If you're having trouble drinking water, either because you don't like it or it's just getting a bit boring, I can't recommend Crystal Light highly enough. I've been drinking it all my life- My mom loves the Crystal Light Iced Tea, my stepdaughters love the Crystal Light Natural Lemonade, and I love the Crystal Light On the Go packets, which I can stir right into a glass of water. There are lots of different flavors to choose from, including my favorite, Energy Wild Strawberry, which actually adds caffeine to my water- HOORAY.

I'd love to know how you feel after a week with more water. Leave a comment and one of you will win a $500 gift card! Yes! I'm doing it again!

Be sure and leave your e-mail address in the comment so that I can contact you if you've won. This contest runs between now and Sunday, August 23rd at midnight, CST. Good luck!

And for more great giveaways, prizes, and water conversation, be sure and join @audreymcclellan for a Crystal Light Twitter party between 8 and 10pm EST on August 19th!

Now that I'm at a new school, I have my own sink, but sadly no fridge. I'm glad that I have those Crystal Light Packs.

Another favorite use for the on-the-go crystal light packs? Everyone knows Florida water stinks. It tastes so bad, even when it is hot outside. I packed all those crystal light packs when we went to Disneyworld, and I filled up my water bottle with the nasty water and added the crystal light pack. Instantly, the water was potable.

Since I've been breastfeeding getting enough water is one of my biggest challenges. I had to switch to (mostly) decaf coffee, which surprised me as still being wildly addictive! So I make myself drink a glass of water before each cup of coffee otherwise I don't allow myself the coffee. I've got my big kids drinking Crystal Light at home -- they act like drinking plain water is sheer torture but they will down a whole pitcher of Crystal Light in an afternoon. It is great because it doesn't have the calories or sugar of soda or Kool Aid, but it is very hydrating.

I love water and have no problem drinking it, but I also love flavored drinks like juice. The Crystal Light Fruit Punch tastes like kool-aid. I feel dizzy when I don't get enough and I live in So Cal so drinking water on a hot day makes me feel much better.

Damnit I didn't win the last one! Oh well maybe I should enter this time! At our house we only drink sugar free drinks and Crystal light is cheaper. Also because of the whole no sugar there are no sticky droplets strung throughout my house.

It's not that I don't like water. At times, like after I've just sweat out half my body weight mowing the lawn, it's all I want.

Usually, though, I want something fizzy. I'm trying to curb the Diet Coke addiction.

Well, sort of trying. In an academic way.

I love Crystal Light - but I'm trying to drink more just plain ol' water. I find that after a few days of drinking water regularly, I actually CRAVE it if I go a couple of hours without a glass.

I've been drinking CL since I was a kid and my best friend's mom bought it. She was an ER nurse and mother of three, so she was always on her feet. She used to stress to us the importance of drinking water ("do not fear if...") and would bribe us to do so with what she called her "Even More Cool-Aid." We got creative with it, too, as kids do: using it in popsicles, sprinkling it on cookies, and mixing it with Eagle Brand condensed milk and butter to make super delicious icings for cakes. (I actually still do that.) I'm now a young professional in NYC and as 30 comes careening in closer each day, I keep getting worried about the effects of my diet on my body. The one thing I don't have to worry about is water, though (and my complexion thanks me). I force myself to drink 4 of those big nalgenes every day - and it's ALWAYS with a CL mixed inside. But my favorite side-effect of the Crystal Light-induced hydration? My skin looks fantastic. ALL. THE. TIME.

And admit it. Water's so much cheaper than acne creams.

I would die without my water. Especially after I started nursing, I would feel parched and headachy without frequent infusions. As an added bonus, it helps flush out any toxins I've managed to ingest, too much sugar or caffeine, etc. Must go drink some water!

Water is more important than coffee when I need to wake up -- it's amazing how much being dehydrated can leave me dragging. I work overnights, and most of my co-workers are caffeine junkies; I only drink 1-2 cups, but carry a huge water bottle.

Also, staying hydrated helps me control unnecessary snacking.
