Unless I state otherwise, you can assume I received a free sample of the products that I review on this blog and, sometimes I also receive a gift certificate in exchange for writing an honest review. I've also begun writing sponsored posts here from time to time, but only for products that I personally believe in and endorse. Since I only agree to review those products I think I'll like, you'll find that most of these reviews are positive. I will, however, be honest regarding my opinions on reviews I choose to write, whether they are good or bad. Pinky swear.

I offer quite a few giveaways on this site, but if you win, your prize will be sent from the company offering it, not from my home. Consequently, I am not responsible for PR reps who mail your prize 4 months late (which happened once) or never mail it at all (which hasn't happened yet, fingers crossed).

Where to Wipe One's Nose

When I catch a cold, I’m a miserable, uncommunicative shell of a human being. But when my four-year-old daughter has a cold, she becomes Eli Whitney.

“Mommy, I like to wipe my nose on my dress when I’m sick,” my daughter told me a few weeks ago, “because there’s more room.”

Clearly, the girl is brilliant. Why bother with searching for rough squares of paper tissue when there are yards of soft fabric right at one’s fingertips? Perhaps I could be the first to market a dress that features a facial tissue skirt, in brown so that those troublesome boogers don’t show. It would be a runaway hit!

And when my innovative design catapults me to fame as lead couturier in the House of Givenchy, I’ll owe it all to my daughter and her tiny, runny nose. It could so happen.

Or maybe that’s just the cold medicine talking.

Since 'tis the season, you might want to check out all this valuable content about colds and flu – sponsored by Vicks, presented by DivineCaroline – including a chit chat where you can win $250!
